I am an avid and passionate knitter in Upstate NY. I graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh with a BA in Studio Art, my concentration being oil painting. I loved to paint, but hated the time it took me to complete a satisfactory piece. In my free time, I would pick up my needles and knit. My mom had taught me the garter stitch when I was a kid and over the years I taught myself new stitches and new techniques. Bright, bold yarns were my favorite to create hats and scarves for my friends and I. Since then, my knitting has overtaken my painting. The colors that I loved to put on the canvas are now stranded around my needles, patterns developing row by row. My creative energy has been re-directed and I could not be happier with it.
I am constantly creating new and original designs based on time-tested patterns. I am currently concentrating on hats and mittens. I love projects that are quick, beautiful and functional. Natural fibers are my passion. Honestly, I get a little turned-on when I come across some really lovely feeling, beautifully and boldly colored wool. It is an addiction that I am working on turning into an income. (Etsy store coming soon.) In the meantime, I am keeping track of my knitting adventures here on wordpress.
